New
For over 20 years the WYMO program has provided an opportunity for the university community to donate non-perishable food, clothin & shoes, household items, books/school supplies, small furniture, organizers, electronics, dorm decorations, cleaning supplies, laundry supplies, bedding, mirrors, toiletries and anything that's still usable instead of throwing it out!  Donations benefit the Falcon Food Pantry, the BGSU community, and a number of area nonprofits and charities in need. Visit our website for the charities we've served. Use up those Falcon Dollars to donate to the Falcon Food Pantry! Can't fit it in your car to take home?  Have too much? Or maybe you want to help the public good? Whatever the case, collection boxes will be in all Residence Hall lobbies, Greek Townhouses, BGSU Dining Markets, and the Bowen-Thompson Student Union lobby starting April 15 through the close of the Res Halls on May 2! Don't throw it out! Donate it! Brought to you by Campus Sustainability, BGSU Dining and Residence Life. Reach out to greenbg@bgsu.edu with any questions about donating. Students: If you still need service hours, we are one of the last on-campus opportunities of the year. Join us for the annual spring Electronics Recycling Drive. Open to anyone at BGSU as well as the broader community! There's no cost to bring your old, outdated and unwanted electronics to our drive-thru style event at the Slater Family Ice Arena Parking Lot (Lot 10). Follow the signs, enter on Mercer, exit off Stadium Dr. We'll have student volunteers assisting in the unloading of your vehicles.  Recycle responsibly with us! We don't want any electronics ending up in the landfill. Worldwide in 2025, the total potential metal recovery from the e-waste market was valued at around $37 billion. Recycling e-waste responsibly helps the planet, people, and the economy. Includes certified destruction of hard drives & other data-bearing devices through either physical crushing of the devices or a 3 pass DOD standard wipe.  What is accepted? Almost anything with a cord or that’s battery-operated: • Desktop computers & laptops • Monitors & TVs (flatscreens/LCDs ONLY) • Printers & other IT/office equipment • Wires/cables/cords/light ballasts • Phones and Chargers (cellphones or telephones) • Small household & kitchen appliances • Cameras & AV equipment • Game consoles & VCR/ DVD players • Electronic tools • Batteries of all kinds • Fans & much more! No tube TVs, CRT screens, refrigerators, A/C units, ovens, dishwashers or other large appliances! These will NOT be accepted at the event. Dispose of box TVS/screens at ERG Environmental Services, and appliances can be scrapped at the City of BG Recycling Center.   Your e-waste helps BGSU beat other universities in the Campus Race to Zero Waste "Electronics Recycling Competition"
