  Dr. Andrew Hoffman explores the intersection of social & scientific in the fight against climate change. His dynamic presentation will provide actionable steps that people of all academic disciplines can use to take climate action! Dr. Hoffman is a Professor of Sustainable Enterprise at the University of Michigan and is an author of 100+ articles and 18 books that tackle climate change from a multi-faceted approach.  

Join us for a campout at Oak Openings Metropark, complete with S'mores and campfire!  Then Saturday morning we will assist the Metroparks staff with a service project.  Enjoy nature, and then help protect it the next day!  Pre registration is required for this event, as there are a limited number of spots.  See the registration link found in the Campus Sustainability Month website below.  All campers will provide their own sleeping bags and other equipment.

The Re store is BGSU's reuse option and offers all kinds of gently used and sometimes new items to BGSU students, faculty and staff for no cost!  Our October event, celebrating Campus Sustainability Month and the reduction of waste is free with no admission charge.  Office supplies (including huge volume of 3 ring binders and desktop organization options), clothing, books, shoes, crafting materials, household items, electronics and much more! A reasonable sized reusable bag is required for this event, as we do not provide bags or allow other items to be used as bags/shopping containers.  Valid BG One card required for admission.  Quantity limitations will be enforced, as well other Re store policies.  Why buy new when you can reuse? 

October is Campus Sustainability Month and fall is tree planting season!  This is your chance to add a lasting and living legacy to the BGSU campus, by assisting in the planting of trees across campus. Volunteers will be provided with tools, gloves, training and inspiration.  Your impact will serve to sequester carbon and produce oxygen for years to come.  Enjoy beautiful fall weather and be a part of BGSU's sustainability team!  Signup for this event is on the BGSUserves platform, where specific location and other details are also provided.
