Catch up with former classmates, relax with your family and friends, connect with campus leadership and enjoy a laid-back breakfast to kick off the day. Lace up your running shoes and join the Dave Wottle Race at BGSU – a 5K event that brings together runners, joggers and walkers of all ages and abilities for a spirited celebration of community and Falcon pride. Race Day Highlights Olympic gold medalist Dave Wottle will kick off the race, inspiring participants at the starting line. The 5K course welcomes runners of all levels, from competitive athletes to casual joggers. Young Falcon fans can join the excitement with the Kids Dash, featuring Freddie and Frieda to cheer them on.   Who Is Dave Wottle? Dave Wottle is a Bowling Green State University alumnus and Olympic champion best known for his thrilling come-from-behind victory in the 800-meter race at the 1972 Munich Olympics. A standout in both collegiate and professional track, his legacy continues to inspire athletes and Falcons alike. Join the tradition! Cross the finish line with a strong sense of camaraderie, achievement and Falcon spirit.

A Homecoming favorite, Falconland brings families, alumni and the community together for a day of hands-on activities, campus exploration and family-friendly fun.  What to Expect Kid Zone – Inflatables, face painting, caricatures and more. Science and exploration – Visit the herpetology and marine biology labs for interactive experiences. Teaching Kitchen – Learn from BGSU Dining with short cooking demos. Planetarium shows – Experience a journey through the stars for space lovers of all ages. Cap off an unforgettable Homecoming Saturday with a spectacular post-game fireworks show lighting up the sky above Doyt Perry Stadium.This dazzling display is the perfect finale to a day full of Falcon spirit.  Game attendees can watch from the comfort of their seats, but we invite anyone else to enjoy the show from the perch of their choice outside the stadium ⛈️ Please note that activities, dates and times are subject to change. Be sure to stick around after the 5K for a 100-meter Kids Dash! Participants in the Kids Dash will receive special stickers while supplies last. Begin your final day of BGSU Homecoming the right way with a delicious, buffet-style  brunch while hanging out with BGSU’s favorite mascots, Freddie and Frieda Falcon. Bring your friends and family for a fun, relaxed dining experience filled with photo ops, high fives and maybe even an autograph. Cost to participate: No pre-sale tickets are needed! Just head to The Oaks, where you can enjoy an all-you-care-to-eat meal.
