Wear Teal Day is an annual event that takes place on the first Tuesday of April during Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). In 2025, Wear Teal Day will be on April 1st. The day aims to raise awareness and prevent sexual violence, harassment, and abuse through education. Wearing teal, the color of sexual violence prevention, is a way to show support for survivors and embrace your voice for change. You can wear teal clothing, nail polish, socks, ties, hats, scarves, and more. SAAM Teal Yarn Storm

Join Gender Violence Prevention and Education Services on Wednesday, April 2nd from 2-4p near the Union Oval to install the 2025 SAAM Teal Yarn Storm! Help turn campus teal to bring awareness to sexual violence and show support to survivors.  What is a yarn storm? Yarn storming is a type of graffiti or street art that employs colorful displays of knitted or crocheted yarn or fiber rather than paint or chalk. It is frequently used as a form of political resistance. Yarn storming has become synonymous with the current feminist movement due in part to the reclamation of the traditionally feminine arts of knitting and/or crocheting to partake in the traditionally masculine graffiti scene. Within a single lifetime, we’ve progressed from the first space rocket launch to using space technologies in our everyday lives. Now, we are ready to start a new chapter in the history of human endeavor: to take our first steps towards a permanent, off-world presence. Kari Byron from Crash Test World and MythBusters launches us on a journey beyond the Earth toward a sustainable future in space. NASA’s 21st-century Artemis program, named after the ancient Greek moon goddess and twin of Apollo, is the next step in our mission to explore the universe and land the first woman and person of color on the surface of the Moon. A $2 donation is suggested for all planetarium shows. Produced by Fiske Planetarium in collaboration with TEND Studio with funding from NASA SSERVI and Lockheed Martin.

Take Back the Night

On Friday, April 4th, Take Back the Night will be returning to Bowling Green State University in the Jerome Library’s Pallister Conference Room. Doors open at 5:45p with a welcome program beginning at 6:15p. Take Back the Night is an active empowerment and demonstration event for individuals who have experienced intimate partner violence and sexual violence, including sexual assault, sexual abuse, trafficking, stalking, gender harassment, and relationship violence.. In addition to local efforts, Take Back the Night is recognized annually across the country.
