Enjoy a variety of fitness options to fit your schedule and needs. Free Access to Well-Being Room Commuter students can also take advantage of free access to a Well-Being Room all week. To enjoy this space, make a reservation through your MyRec Portal. It's a great way to relax on focus on your wellness during a busy week.  Take advantage of these free fitness and wellness opportunities during Commuter Student Appreciation Week. FREE Martial Arts Classes

Student Recreation Center, Martial Arts Studio - Classroom #38

Learn taijutsu, a traditional Japanese martial art focused on self-awareness and natural body movement for self-defense. Taijutsu involves unarmed techniques for striking, kicking, blocking, grappling and throwing, traditional weapon techniques, and methods of evasion and escape from dangerous situations.  Who can attend? Open to BGSU students, faculty and staff, ages 14 and up.   All ability levels are welcome Why you should attend Classes are conducted in a supportive environment through which participants can improve their physical, menta, and spiritual well-being. How to attend Drop in to join this 6-7:30 p.m. class hosted on Tuesday class  between Jan. 14-April 29. (Class will not be hosted during spring break.) Class is hosted in the Martial Arts Studio (#38) in the sub-basement at the Student Rec Center Advance registration is not required. Wear comfortable clothing.  About the instructor Instructed by BGSU Chief Well-Being Officer, Ben Batey. Ben is a licensed instructor with over 20 years of experience in the art of Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu and currently holds the rank of 6th degree black belt. Sexual Health Education and HIV/STI Testing

The Office of Health and Wellness provides this designated time and place to have private conversations with health professional, Danielle VanFleet, HIV Testing Coordinator, about safer sex. Bring your questions and discuss concerns on topics such as disease prevention, sexuality and reproductive health, contraception options, relationships, and risk factors for HIV and sexually transmitted infections. FREE Safer Sex Kits and free condoms are available during the sessions to all BGSU students. Call 419.372.9355 for your appointment or walk-ins are always welcome A real name is not needed when making an appointment FREE and Confidential HIV Testing - 30-minute results If getting multiple STI tests, results may take more than 30-minutes LGBTQ+ Friendly and Affirming FREE condoms for BGSU students and FREE Safer Sex Kits Consultations and testing conducted at the Student Recreation Center. FREE Cycling Class: Cycle Synching

This special class features a 30-mintute express cycle class followed by a 30-minute educational session focused on women's health. Learn how to track your menstrual cycle, understand what your body is doing in each phase and discover how to tailor your wellness routine for your body's needs. What to Expect 6-6:30 p.m. - Cycle Class Get your heart rate racing in this exciting, express cycle class. Whether you're new to cycling or an experienced rider, this class is sure to be a fun boost to your week in a supportive environment. 6:30-7 p.m. - Educational Session After the cycle class, join us for a valuable session on understanding your menstual cycle. Learn how to track your cycle, tips to adjust your workouts to fit each phase and improve your overall wellness. Why You Should Attend Free Fitness Class: Get a great workout with no cost to you.
