Dr. Scott Piroth, teaching professor of Political Science at BGSU and long-time curler, will discuss the social benefits of curling clubs and the challenges clubs face when reaching out to diverse communities.
The April 8, 2024 Total Solar Eclipse will stretch across North America, with the path of totality crossing Mexico, the USA, and Canada. Eclipse-watching has a rich cultural and scientific history that stretches back thousands of years to many pre-contact North American cultures and continues to inspire imaginations to the present day.
Join us for an evening of discussion with scholars from archaeology, astronomy, and the history of science about the many ways people experience the night sky – past and present.
This symposium is presented by the Department of History and the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Bowling Green State University, with support from the Reddin Fund for Canadian Studies.
